Almost every Muslim reads the Holy Quran, which is their Holy Book. Have you ever thought what is the reason behind it? What do they learn and what benefits do they gain?
Let us try to understand this. So, read below:
Allah, the Creator of this Universe has sent a comprehensive and complete manual for us. This manual teaches us how to spend our life, why we are created, and what is the end of this world.
These questions often arise in our minds. But, if we read the Holy Quran and understand its meaning, we will find every answer. Now, let us see how Quran gives us these answers:
Understanding the Purpose of Life
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“I have created the jinn and humankind only for My worship.” (51:56)
With this ayat, we get to know the purpose of our life, which is to worship Allah. But what is the right way of worship? What is shirk and which good deeds do we need to practice for worshipping Allah? Explanation of all these things is present in Quran.
Furthermore, some people often get confused about this concept. They think that giving value to family, neighbours, and friends is not important. All they need to do is worship Allah.
Again, Quran explains to us that these relations should also be an important part of our life. Maintaining and fulfilling the needs of such relations is also ibadat.
Here is one of the Quranic ayahs that sheds light on this topic:
“and do good to parents and to kindred and orphans and the needy and speak good to people” Quran 2/83
Thus, Quran tells us to maintain a balance between Deen and Duniya.
Knowing the Miracles and Truth about Islam
Unfortunately, people have a lot of misconceptions about Islam. Muslims are divided into several groups, each with a different mindset. To avoid confusion and adopt the right path, Muslims seek guidance from Islam.
They read and learn the basics of Islam. Besides this, they get to know the sacrifices that have been done by the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). Our Prophet’s companions have also gone through a lot of troubles and Allah has shown several miracles in their life.
Muslims learn all these true stories from the Quran. Be it the story of Hazrat Dawood, Hazrat Esa, Hazrat Nooh, Hazrat Ibrahim, or any other, everything is present in the Quran.

Clearing the Misconceptions
Muslims often get confused about the teachings related to prayer times, wadu, zakat, hajj, and many other things. Besides asking the scholars, they also read the Holy Quran to know what Allah has taught us about these things. Allah has clearly defined everything in the Quran. If we understand it thoroughly, we can clear about doubts. But yes asking an Islamic scholar is much better than going in some misconceptions.
Learning about the Life of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)
Without any doubt Muslims believe that the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) is the last prophet of Allah. He is the most beloved among all and Allah has sent him as a role model for all of us.
When Muslims read the Quran, they learn how the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) led his life. They also get to know about Holy Prophet’s (P.B.U.H) family, relations, and sacrifices done for the path of Islam.
Knowing more about Allah
We all know that Allah is the Creator. But, how Allah has tested and blesses the people before us reveals much more about Allah. Such cases from history make us realize the blessings that Allah has given to us.
Quran teaches Muslims about the things that Allah likes and dislikes. At several points in the Holy Quran Allah talks about patience. It shows that Allah loves those who show patience and will also reward them.
Learning about the Life after Death
Everyone knows that the life of this world is temporary. But, what will happen after death is present in Quran. This holy book tells us about heaven and hell. What things are present in heaven and what punishments will be given in hell.
Moreover, Muslims get to know about the things that can lead them towards heaven or hell. Quran further tells us about the grave. What will happen when we are left alone in our graves and much more.
Learning about the Signs of Devil
Many of us are so engaged in worldly matters that we forget to determine where the devil is. At times, even the bad things start looking right to us. But when we read the Holy Quran, we understand the tricks of the devil. Thus, we start getting rid of things like music, haram things, lying, theft, backbiting, etc.
Final Words
Allah has sent the Holy Quran as a guide for every Muslim. Reading this book provides endless benefits. From knowing the purpose of life and life after death to practicing Islam and gaining knowledge about Islamic miracles, we can learn many things from it.
May Allah guide every Muslim to read and understand Quran in the right way.
